The Yale Sibling Project

Primary Investigator: Julie Wolf, Ph.D.

Purpose

To study the issues impacting typically developing siblings of children with ASD, and to evaluate the effectiveness of a support group for these siblings. If you choose to participate, your typically developing child will be enrolled in a 10-session sibling support group with other similar-aged children who have siblings with ASD. You may be placed in a waitlist control group prior to your child participating in the intervention. You and your child will be asked to complete some questionnaires and interviews before the support group (or waitlist period) begins and again after it ends.

Criteria for participation

  • Typically developing boys and girls
  • Ages 6-17
  • With a sibling diagnosed with autism, Asperger's Disorder, or PDD-NOS
