Giving to the Yale Child Study Center

The generosity of friends of the Center is required to maintain the scope of our research, clinical services and training programs. Donors are essential in helping us support our mission to understand child development, social, behavioral and emotional adjustment, and psychiatric disorders and to help children and families in need of care. You may make a gift to the Center with cash, checks, credit card payments and gifts of marketable securities. Please feel free to call the Development Office at (203) 436-8559 for advice or details.

Ways to Give

A gift of cash entitles you to the most generous federal income tax deduction available for charitable contributions. You may deduct up to 50% of your adjusted gross income for gifts of cash and may carry any amount over that figure forward for up to five additional years.

Checks should be made payable to “Yale Child Study Center” and mailed to:

Yale Child Study Center, Office of Development
Box 7611
New Haven, CT 06519-0611
Phone: 203-436-8559

Marketable Securities

A gift of appreciated securities that you have held for more than one year is frequently the most economic way to give. You will be eligible to take a federal income tax deduction equal to the fair market value of the stock on the date of the gift for up to 30% of your adjusted gross income and will not have to recognize the appreciation as capital gain. When you are ready to make a gift of securities to the Center, please call the Development Office at (203) 436-8559 for information on the proper procedure.
